Newly imposed tariffs on goods entering the United States

Edit April 9, 2025: The De Minimus ruling is in effect until May 2, 2025 at which time Chinese goods entering into the USA from any port will be subject to tariff rates which are effective on that date. Until that date, goods shipped to the USA will have no import tariffs, duties or taxes. After May 2, the tariff could be as high as 125% on the value of the goods.

Edit April 2, 2025.  The US government has imposed a 34% tariff on good coming from China and Hong Kong. They have removed the De Minimus rule from China direct but it is uncertain whether the $800 de minimus rule from goods entering from Canada will still hold, as the goods originally originate from China. We are sending out a few test shipments to the United States to evaluate this developement. Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for your continued support.

Edit March 4, 2025. The US government has temporarily reinstated the $800 de minimis rule, meaning shipments under $800 per person, per day, will not be subject to the 10% tariff and 8.75% duty for polyester blankets.

Original blog post -Newly imposed tariff's, by the US Government, will see a 10% tariff imposed on all goods made in China (where our blankets are manufactured, as there is no available Canadian Manufacturer for this specialty product), and imported into the United States. This tariff may be collected by the delivering courier company, along with an 8.75% duty for polyester blankets, and they may also charge a brokerage fee to collect the tariff. We will be monitoring this closely and may make changes to our shipping policy as this develops.
